What is a birth doula?

Birth doulas are professionals who are trained to support you and your family during and immediately after the birth of your baby. We will talk to you about what your wishes and plans are for childbirth and make a birth plan.

We can help find ways to alleviate pain and discomfort, and bring reassurance and confidence. Most importantly, we can advocate for you in the hospital because we are there only for you and to support you throughout the entire time you are there.

What is a postpartum doula?

The word postpartum means "after the birth." A postpartum doula is a trained professional who will support you and your baby (or babies!) during the first few weeks after childbirth. We will help with everything from feeding to getting enough sleep to tips on wound healing, newborn care, your emotional adjustment, and much more.

Especially if this is your first baby, there will be so many questions and unknowns and we are able to bring reassurance, knowledge, and comfort during this period of great change in your life.
